This Continuing Education Unit (CEU) course is designed for licensed massage therapists seeking to expand their clinical toolkit with advanced manual cupping techniques specifically targeting myofascial restrictions, adhesions, muscular tension and muscular ischemia. Participants will gain an understanding of fascial anatomy, the physiological effects of negative pressure on connective tissue, and practical skills in applying silicone and/or plastic pump cups for effective myofascial decompression. Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: Describe the anatomy and physiology of fascia and its role in movement, pain, and postural deviations. Explain the specific physiological effects of manual cupping on fascial layers, including viscoelastic changes, fluid dynamics, and mechanoreceptor stimulation. Inform client of emotional effects of cupping as related to the dynamic shifts in fascia and openings in the energetic channels of the body (meridens) Assessment to identify myofascial restrictions and adhesions suitable for cupping therapy. Demonstrate safe and effective application of stationary, dynamic (gliding), and active/passive movement cupping techniques for myofascial decompression. Integrate manual cupping therapy with advanced manual therapy techniques for comprehensive fascial release. Develop treatment plans incorporating cupping for common myofascial pain syndromes and postural imbalances. Provide client education regarding cupping treatment, expected outcomes, and post-session self-care for fascial health.
